Wake Forest Medical Student at CerviCusco

CerviCusco offers several robust supervised clinical experiences for medical students. Students may volunteer following their first year of medical school or for academic credit during a clinical global health elective. While the elective rotations typically involve individual M3/4 students, individual or large groups of rising M2 students frequently help CerviCusco during the summer.

Natalie Davis, an M2 medical student at Wake Forest University, completed a month long clinical experience at CerviCusco earlier this year. She’s noted the education and training in Peru has already helped her during her current studies. During her experience with us, she worked at CerviCusco, outpatient clinics and cervical cancer screening campaigns in the rural areas surrounding Cusco. “We take medical students who have completed their first year of medical school and train them like M3s before they return home to begin their second year of school” said Daron Ferris, MD.
